Not had it actually running properly yet. I've been starting on the bodywork and the roll cage fitment. Basically, the reason I stopped working on the engine is that I've got to drain the tank and get the stale fuel out of it before I go any further anyway. I didn't have anything to drain it into at home so I started on some of the other little bits.
I've now got a spare fuel tank handy so that I can drain the fuel into that. I might venture back into the garage tonight with a jerry can full of fresh petrol and get cracking. I'm half tempted to slap a ready setup HIF 44 on there just to get it running, then put the 45 back on it when it's run in to be honest.

I dunno mate, it smells like bloomin diesel to be honest! Anyway, the carb setup is the main thing really. The timing IS ok.Wouldnt worry about the fuel
I started my mates that had been standing for a good year or so, just get it running and burn it off
I just wish I hadn't had to go and fix the GF's Dad's computer tonight instead of spending time in the garage!

Oh well, more time lost on the FReaK

Chin up, Matt
She's looking gorgeous!
Fankooo Jeany!

Well, I am making slow progress of the bodywork, the bonnet is now on and the doors are on their way to being sprayed.
First I did a really thick rough primer base, so I had plenty to rub back.

Then I used some gloss black aerosol to highlight the flaws in the new doorskins (there were plenty, thay have now been rubbed back and will be filled where necessary).

Sooo, the doors are going to be prepped by me, then top coated by someone else (I hope).

Got the bladdy awkward bits started on too. The little blemishes that she's picked up over the years are getting treated just to stop them rusting any further. She's not getting a full restoration by any means, but she will do soon
Got the bonnet finally fitted up properly too. I was going to fit flush mount bonnet pins, but funds wouldn't allow really and I had these normal ones already.

The bonnet's staying white for now, just until the car's been run in and I take her off the road again to flip front her. Thought I might as well paint all of the front end at the same time.

Ummm, engine's still not setup right. It does run, but I haven't had the time or money to finish off setting it up. I need some more fuel hose because mine is leaking and I also need to sort out some in-line adaptors to go from 6mm to 8mm hose. There's a few more bits I need to buy, but am gonna have to wait until pay day (tomorrow) to get them. Bit strapped for cash (and stuck for time) over the last week because I've been having to fix the Megane!

Bladdy cars!

I just need to give em a final flatting off another top coat then I can buff em up good and proper! (I hope).
I think I may be fitting BIG white vinyl squares for door numbers though!

Need to get back in there this weekend and do more and more bodywork! It's a PITA doing a little bit at a time (like where the old arches were fitted/drilled) but at least it's getting sorted!
