Missing tooth should be 90 degrees AFTER the vr sensor with engine at TDC!!!!!!

:P Don't worry, it was my wording. I meant that I have the VR sensor 90 degrees before the missing tooth, well, I know what I meant! :P

Actually, my head is all over the place at the moment, I'm struggling a bit with work as it's hacking me off so much. I think that's why I've not been able to concentrate on the FReaK properly. I keep going back to it after struggling with something, then realising it's just something really obvious that's wrong!

Anyway, the way I set up the missing tooth alignment was by counting the teeth. I positioned it so that when the engine is at TDC, the centre of the gap where the missing tooth is, is 9 teeth away from the sensor (the sensor is centred 9 teeth before the gap). I think, I will double check it tonight along with everything else I have to double check!

OMG somebody sort me out  BOOOHOOO :P

Nah, being 6'6" I fancied something to shcmack my head on in the event of a crash! :goaway:

to be honest, I am seriously thinking of going away from the Cobra Classic seats too, they are fapping poop in comparison to the Corbeau Forzas that I sold to Nick!

Might get a new set of them too. :P

I only actually want the rear cage for the FReaK, the front part is going to be put to one side for something else :P

Wellll, I'm going to pick up my roll cage from Stoke tomorrow :P

Not that it'll fit in the back of my Megane, I'll have to be nice to the GF and ask if I can borrow her car! ;)

Anyway, my damn fuel pipe is leaking now, from the tank to the pump, so that's the next awkward little job to do, once that's done I am going to replace the fuel in the tank as I am pretty sure it's stale.

It's like the car's trying to run, but just not quite getting there, I'm getting fuel at the plugs, but it doesn't smell like petrol should. So it's time to get it all out of the tank a put a gallon of decent fuel in there. Then, I'm hoping it'll actually go! I've got sparks, I've got fuel coming through, so it should run OK.

I've double checked everything there is to double check and I'm sure it's right. I think it's a combination of new engine, timing not quite 100% (though it's as close as it could be on initial setup), carb setup not quite right and also the stale fuel (the fuel being the most likely culprit).

Well, I picked up the roll cage yesterday from Stoke. Was a bit of a bargain IMHO. It's a Rollcentre one, fixed rear cross braces, bolt in, all the nuts and bolts etc. The only thing with it is (which I don't mind) that the attachments for the door bars have been ground off the front uprights.

But, I am planning on only using the rear section for the FReaK, the front section is going to be reserved for the roadster project (if I ever get it started). I'm going to use the front cage to weld to the A pillars to give it some more strength, so I'm only going to be using the front uprights and the front roof bar. The front part of the cage will then be chopped off just aft of the roof bar attachment. It's having the door apertures welded closed with door skins too. So the upright legs from teh front cage will have some cross bracing running off it and to the B-pillar, or an upright from a modified rear cage. :S

Piccies of me cage! ;D Bolted it all together to make sure it was straight, then took it apart again.

I'm semi-decided on chopping out the rear bins and losing the rear seat swab. It'll make it a load easier (well, it'll make it possible) to fit the cage. The bins are a bit shabby, so chop em off I reckon! :shifty:

GOT TO GET THIS THING READY FOR MITP!!!!!

Your timing setup looks ok, same as the way i did it. I found I was only 4.5 degrees out when I got it running and could just tweak this out in the ECU, I assume you can do this on MJ?

Yeah, I'm not sure what the maximum adjustment is, but I want to get it as spot on as possible so that I can use the 'limp home' mode of 10 degree advance from the EDIS module if the ECU fails. Need to concntrate on getting it running now, carb setup etc needs a good fiddling. Plus, I need to get the fuel pressure set properly at the regulator. Might buy a gauge for it as they are only cheapo.

I got an ebay one for 15 sheets, assumed it was +/- 10% for set up only and it seems to be ok, later when I installed my electric sensor it pretty much read the same :shifty:
