ooh...i think lookin good  cant tell because of phone pics tho lol

not long till it will be out and about then!

are u going for internal gearselector?

I want it finished for Drag Wars really, but I don't want to rush it now it's so close. If it gets finished, great. If not, well, I'll be disappointed, but I'd rather just finish it right!

I was going to go for an internal selector, but I can fit the rod box to the remote tunnel with only very minor mods to the shell, so I'd rather do that to be honest.

As for the Megajolt, pick away! :)

Eventually yeah, currently it aint got one, but I've got an oil temp gauge and an oil pressure gauge to monitor it and see if it's needed. If I need one it's an easy thing to slap on really :)

I've heard a few people say that they aren't needed with a sump guard, I've heard most people say that they are needed, so I guess I'll just have to make my own mind up really (I'm kinda 60-40 in favour of fitting a thermostat one anyway to be honest).

Aye, Tis what I am doing too...
I am fitting a guard, I already have a oil pressure gauge - and well, after a long trip running round town, the pressure does drop a lot, so I'll be fitting one as its a PITA to fit one once its in, due not being able to take the grille off :)

Oh yeah, I'd never thought about that on a van you know. Loads of the little jobs are easier with the grille off. Must be a PITA sometimes

Just been sorting out my photobucket album thing and found some more pics:

The Megajolt is going to sit here (sorry about the carppy state of the panels, they have been tidied up now, honest) :)

Driving position now pretty much sorted (might just drop the front of the seat down a little bit into the top subframe hole), still need to buy some classic looking 3 point harnesses though. Note how the rod change unit is sitting in the tunnel. I need to find a couple of rubber bobbins (a fule pump mounting type will probably do it). The existing rear rod change unit bobbins are about twice the height that I need them to be. The O/S bobbin will fit directly into one of the gear lever gaiter holes if I enlarge it to 6mm, the N/S bobbin will sit in the middle of the remote change aperture, so I'm going to make a bracket that goes across two of the remote change aperture screw holes. That way, my remote tunnel stays exactly as it should. It's a really easy swap actually, I'd already tried to butcher one rod change unit (which is now scrap) so I could mount it all internally. But now I've finally had a proper play with it along side the exhaust it fits really easily. Might do a little FAQ/guide to doing the swap at some point ;)

EDIS 4 unit mounted here!

Can't get enough of looking at my engine bay! :D

I'm hoping to hear it bark on Saturday or Sunday. It's gone quite well so far really.

I just need to address the wiring now. I've also got to cut a hole in the side of the Weber box to pass the vacuum advance pipe through to the MJLJR (got some neat push-fit pneumatic bulkhead fittings to do that, nicked from work).

Ummm, I'd better get me bum in gear though, I want to get this engine run in and ready for drag wars!

Yup, I really couldn't afford the BRR one in the end.

Tis a home brew one. Hope it works OK!

Well, I got most of the wiring done last night. No piccies though because I thought it would be boring! :P

Just found out that I've gotta spend next week in Cornwall with work though, so that's going to slow progress down a bit

Sooo, nearly there but not quite.

Spent most of the weekend doing the wiring. The Megajolt is now in and properly wired up, I've wired up the Sportpack dash and it does look great to be honest.

I've got the engine all sorted now, it's been turned over until the oil pressure light went out. I just haven't fired it up because I need to sort out a fuel pump relay before I can. It's definitely a proper mini though, it's got an oil leak! I'm a bit pee'd off with it really. It's coming from the O/S diff end cover, which means that I've got to drop the oil, pop the driveshaft out, and replace the gasket. Bit of a pain, but I'm going to wait until I drop the engine oil after the engine's been run in.

Man, I hate wiring. I followed the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual for the sportpack dash, but it's wrong! the direction indicator wires are the wrong colours in there! Anyway, got around that and sorted it out now. :)

Anyway, it's very nearly ready to go. But I've got to go to Cornwall next week with work, so it's going to have to wait until then now.

Still got a LOT of bodywork to do on her, but that's all the good bit! :D
