Likkle update,

After another hour in the garage, the SC gearbox and transfer gears are on the engine now, ready for the transfer case to be slapped on the side. So, hopefully either tonight ot tomorrow night, the engine and box will all be together, minus the head, which I am in the middle of tweaking a little. Should all be finished for the weekend and ready to go in :proud:

I have gotta get a workbench sorted this week though, working on the floor aint any good, it's clean enough as I had some plastic down when I had the engine stripped, but I am gonna end up getting piles sitting on the cold concrete!

EDIT: A piccy of the engine as it stood last night, note to self, must learn to take proper pictures! :)

Yaay! Transfer case is now on and torqued up, flywheel is now on and torqued up, elbow is now totally knackered after my 'flywheel locking tool' slipped a little bit! I did swear!

The clutch is also on and tight, just need a new retaining clip for the thrust bearing and I'm sorted :)

Next bit is the Megajolt fitment at the other end of the crank, I'll be taking plenty of piccies of that so everyone knows how it's done.

Meh, the water pipe os a little corroded on it (as always) but it is serviceable. I may sell it, I may be storing it. Infact, I was even thinking of running the car in on the SU instead of the Weber. I am going to be running the engine in using the standard lift rockers, then swap over to the 1.5:1 rollers after the first 500 miles (ish).

Welcome, and thanks! :dontgetit:

Did another couple of rubbish photos last night, my phone is rubbish for photos when the light is anything other than perfect, I can just never be bothered to take the digi-cam into the garage!

This is what I was doing shortly before totally wrecking my elbow! :xxx:

Bit of a money shot with the clutch cover in place. I have lost the thrust bearing retaining clip so will have to order two more (one spare) today and wait for it to come *GRRRRR*
Nearly as blurred as the one from the other night, but not quite! :shifty: David Bailey, I am not! :(

Didn't really do a great deal last night, other than do a bit more porting on the head and start to clean the valves up. I also had a likkle play with where the magnetic pickup is going to mount for the ignition. I fitted the trigger wheel on the pulley (loosely) and had a play around with where to put the missing tooth. I have to say I reckon the Specialist Components kit is VERY good as it gves you the ability to fine tune your trigger wheel rotation and pickup mount in relation to each other. Far better than just getting the teeth machined into the bottom pulley. :shifty:

PICS:
The ports, after some 'rough grinding' yet to be polished out. I've basically taken them out to the near gasket lines, they will be polished as per the guidance of a few good books that I've been reading. The next job (prolly at work) is to punch out the valve guides, take the valve guide bosses down to some measurements that I have in said books and slap in some manganese bronze valve guides with a bulleted nose. It's interesting stuff and I know it's a gamble doing my own head work, but it the head has cost me nothing and I still have two spare 12G940s (one of which is an MG one). One thing I do need to do is get the correct spring poundage, but to be honest I don't know how to select it for my combination of cam and rockers. I think I may have to seek advice from a professional!

The wheels is my spare set of 7" x 13" Superlites :(

The square thing with the mouth is my only friend :dontgetit:

I think I just strained it, it seems to have gone back into place with a loud click yesterday. I sorta slipped when I was tightening the flywheel on Monday *sniffle*
