I moved to Swindon about 3 months ago (Just after I got back from the Mongol Rally- A 10000 mile drive involving approx 150 teams from London's Hyde Park to Mongolia in a sub 1000cc car. My co-driver and I used a 1973 mini Scamp.)

I have been on the look out for a few local mini clubs since I moved and would like to come along on Monday.

Unfortunatly I will be driving the boring old company 'Mundano' as I wont be able to bring my Zeemax mayfair as kent county council damaged the body kit whilst I was away on the Mongol rally and I am still waiting for them to pay out for its repair. Something tells me their going to be dragging their feet over it.

Before I moved to Wiltshire I used to have a Standard British Open Classic, A couple of project mayfairs, A 1100cc mini Scamp and the blue Zeemax 1293 (Was once also a mayfair.) Since my move to Swindon I have either sold most of my minis or driven them to the corner of the earth! I am now only left with my blue Zeemax mayfair (named the KOD father)

I am however on the lookout for a clubman estate, so if anyone sights a bargin please let me know.

Where is the pub on monday? Can someone put a multimap link up or some directions because I couldnt find the pub when I searched for its address online.

It was certainly a great night full of laughter, hearing about everyones projects also being able to ask people what they think about ideas and how they would go about it.

Thank you to jamieread and The Last and the Ludicrous for coming along it was great to meet you guys and hopefully you both will be coming again!

There were roughly about 15 people dont know exact amount as i forgot to count oopsy when in full conversation with everyone.

Jo and Paul, members of SMAC brought a long their italian job run photos and got to admit it looked amazing... everything was so organised and run looked brilliantly, certainly one that me and bristolminimad are hoping to be doing next year depending on funds etc.

There were 4 of us from The Mini Forum... myself, bristolminimad, jamieread and The Last and the Ludicrous, there would have been minimadjonesy if he had not been in Paris! (its alright for some hehe)

After the SMAC meet we had a little TMF meet got chance to get to know each other and hear about the adventures of The Last and the Ludicrous which sounds like he had a great time

Certainly a great night... the next meet will be next year in January

Cant wait to see everyone again!

wouldnt really class myself as "from the mini forum" but fair enough.

I know alot of people are going to be busy with christmas etc but it would be good to go our for a sunday drive or afternoon drive before christmas sometime? anyone else up for a blast to the nearest pub where the pencil hits a map?
