I was thinking about a 998 too - would the bottom end take it? I suppose they have been turbo'd, so theres no reason why not... I've not started looking into it that hard yet, got to finish one project before I start another! The cooper head should be enough to be going on with - for now
the thought has crossed my mind too, considering how hard im finding it to get hold of a 1275 lump.if you get any info on the idea let me know

The new rear seat and door cards

Harnesses and front door cards. Yes I know it needs a hoovering out! When I put the new cards in the front, the handles were wrong - I had the diagonal ones on, so I had to make a pair of horizontal to replace them because the hole spacings are different. Came out pretty well, if I do say so myself! And it gave me an excuse to play on the milling machine.

Then when it came to swapping the head, things went a tad pear shaped. I discovered the source of my ever dropping water level - holy radiator, batman. The accelerator pedal was hanging by about 3 strands of wire as well. And the cheapo LCB manifold refused to come off. A minute with the air hacksaw persuaded it otherwise. A call to the nice chaps at maniflow had this on my doorstep the next day:

(I already had a good maniflow backbox on it)
Luckily there was a spare radiator to be had - my cousins old one. Even better - its the SPI one, with a temperature sender in the bottom of it, which means its a 2 minute job to drain the water instead of farting around with the bottom hose

So now the engine bay looks like this:

And it goes a helluva lot better too, and thats before having it setup properly!

Oh, the hardship

I'm on stupidly big cooper wheels atm, with group 5 arches (with no mods) and they scrape like a b******d! I'm changing wheels and arches, and doing the adjustra-ride with gaz shocks at the same time. Anyhoo, the question is...
What size wheels are those, and with which arches are those too, please?
EDIT - Oh yeah, and do they scrape?
