Major progress since the last pictures....
Plated the hole in the bulkhead with some mill-finish stainless, fitted the alternator, fitted the high level brake light, the heater, and pretty much everything else...

Heater and dash bolted in:

Engine bay all done:

Rear window, fog light and brake light all done:

Front screen and wipers: (paid someone to do the screens, was worth every penny  )

Seats, harnesses and MPi carpet all fitted properly:

I've got the engine running, but only on the EDIS so far - the laptop is not talking to the MJ. Hopefully sort that out tomorrow, then all I have to do is fit the bonnet, trim the front arches a bit and get the head unit fitted and wired up and its about done!

A MASSIVE thanks to callumn, who came over and sorted out my megajolt issues (I needed a serial to USB adaptor cable, and the computer configuring to find it properly) Its now running really really well, I'm very impressed with MJ. I pulled it out of the garage (first move under it's own steam) and "adjusted" the arches with the grinder so hopefully it shouldnt clash at all. Then gave it a well deserved wash, it was looking a bit grubby :w00t:

All thats left to do for MOT now is to fit the front number plate properly and give it a good spanner check. Just need to work out how I'm gonna fit the head unit too.

The blue/black/chrome color scheme looks incredibly good, get some MK2 rear lights though!

Cheers guys
Dave, this ones gonna be doing the L2B - hopefully gonna get down to AC dodd and get it mapped properly at some point beforehand if I get time.
Image, not putting old plates on it - its just asking to be pulled when it looks like this - if it looked classic I would but it just wouldnt suit it as it is.
Adam, the MJ is surprisingly easy once you have the proper cables, I just need to have a play on a nice straight bit of road and see if I can get it any better!
Chris, I wish I'd been able to have everything black bar the bumpers and grille, would have looked even meaner I think, but I've had to compromise on some of the bits  I dont like the look of mk2 lights really, and I'd have to sort a reversing light as well, and I CBA!

Made a bracket up and fitted the front plate tonight, also worked out the stereo mounting, should be able to get on with that tomorrow. I've booked the MOT for thursday, so I should be able to get everything done by then...

It passed :P rock on... The tester was obviously a total twunt, because he thought the headlamps were going brighter on low beam. Got there and they work perfectly, so no idea what he was trying to do. nobber. Got to modify the dash a little I think - the speedo is disconnected atm because it wont fit when the cable is attached  Then fit the head unit and give it a thorough spanner check.

It's always good when some good old fashioned hard work pays off with a nice new MOT certificate . You enjoy driving that lovely machine Tom!

Cheers guys. I've not driven it too much yet - still a few bits to sort out. I was at snetterton this weekend as well so I didnt get too much done (apart from getting horribly drunk on "old thumper"...) I went to the mini club in it last night and it handles absolutely fantastic! The springs are a definate success - I'll be ordering some for the van. I have sprayed the dash panels now and put it all back together, just need to wire the radio up now. I've bought a angle drive for the speedo as well, so that should hopefully sort the issues there.

That paint has finished off that dash perfectly.

How much did you pay for the springs? How much have they improved the ride over rubber?
