i live in clifton hampden 6 miles outside abingdon. i will be when its finished.

is there a regional section for the club on here somewhere?

yeah im a member on the amoc forums but havent been to any meets... WOMBAT sounds cool. will keep my eyes peeled.

Got a little done this morning.

had to turn the car around (garage is small) to work on the front so though i'd get a few pictures of it. look wider than i'd of thought: -

front subframes on: -

Gotta order a few bits and pieces then i can get the front end rolling. hopefully next week.

little bit of an update. havent been working on the mini as much as i'd like but there you go...

got all suspension arms on. ill have to sort out the tiebar length once its on wheels with the engine in.



Lower arm bushes were an arse to fit in so i squashed them in as i tightened it up. do you people reckon they're sitting ok?



Master cylinders in place, with as you can probably tell lots of copper grease everywhere. i love the stuff.



Hubs are all stripped and clean(ish) ready for sandblasting. the bearings are mint only need new ball joints which ive already got. we're slowly getting closer to 4 wheels.

no i put the bushes in the arms as far as i could and they were sticking out a bit, so i just put them on and tightened it all up that pulled them in a bit.

should i take em back out and fit them all the way to the lower arm first?

just taken them back out and re-fitted them and they are fine.

just spent about an hour cleaning the hubs and steering arms with a massive wire brush in a drill. they've cleaned up very nicely, will post some pictures later.

gonna clean them with thinners then slap a bit of hammeritre smooth black on them ill post pics tomorrow when they're finished.

hubs cleaned and painted, gonna slap another coat on 2moro then put the new ball joints, new grease nipples and the ebarings with plenty of grease. gotta drill the calipers holes out to 10mm sometime too for my fiesta caliper bolts to go through.



also got some nice alloy angle to use for my sidemounts gonna get a seat at bingley hopefully then i can tell if the angle is tall enough or not.

hubs have had second coat, next things for them are fit the ball joints and drill out the calipers mounts to 10mm, once the paints dry of course. probably later today.

i also ground away the edge of the mounting bracket for the fiesta caliper so that it sits round the hub, also gave them a lick of paint. gotta get some HT bolts for them too, once ive got the hubs drilled i can measure how long the bolts need to be.

gonna do the hubs later this afternoon.

i need to sort out some driveshafts very soon too. i need the whole lot pot joint, inner, CV and outer. let me know if youve got anything... ill post in the wanted soon probably anyways.
