you need to fit the doors and A panels sort of at the same time to check gaps

yeah, its slow progress because im at uni so much.

that picture was from a while ago, so it hasnt been out of the garage for a while. im just buying lots of bits and as they slowly arrived in the post, im fitting them.

im still stuck really as to what dash to fit because ive no dash rail, noly the rollcage dash bar that sits further out. found one on ebay but none have been re-listed since...

i've got a bit of time off uni now its easter, 2 weeks to get as much done as i can.

im focussing on the doors at the moment, just refurb the glass rails ive bought some real nice CF mirrors, got all the stuff ready to go. pics soon.

also got an insulator block made from glass filled nylon 20mm thick, its pretty cool. better than an alloy one i thinks.

sorting doors today, had to stick the rails and rubbers to the glass because they came away from the glass when it was all the way up and wound down.

i have '78 doors and handles for newer doors, just thinking how to fix them. i might just rivet them on. what have others done with older doors/newer handles?

Use short self tappers to hold them on (the heads can be polished to look shiny to mach the handles),.. it's reversable that way and you don't have the hassle of having to drill a rivet out i it protrudes to far into the door, thus catching the glass.

the rivet wont be naywhere near the glass. it goes through the handle, doorcard and then the door so there wont be much sticking through. i know its not reversible but to be honest i dont think the handle will need removing that much, well hopefully.

sealed the other regulator last night, hopefully will get one door completely done apart from the weather strips. if i do then i can check clearence between handles and the rollcage bars, fingers crossed its all fine...

got both doors done today, they just need weather strips and the glass cleaning.

i fitted the passenger side door with a washer either side of the door hinger panel and the fit was pretty good for first time. It even closed without catching anywhere.

The handles are all fine inside apart from the winder, i could cut one of the bars out but i think i'm just going to leave it as it is and just open the door to wind the window down.

not sure what i can do 2moro because im going away in the evening and then to spain for 11 days.
