See what I did there?!
I’ve got 2 gearboxes open on the workbench, one has this nut around the diff pin and one doesn’t, what’s the difference? Both A+ rod change, one is late 80s and one is early 90s

Thanks both, I did some googling and the missing bit points towards an MG Metro or Turbo gearbox. I know the box was from a Metro so that makes sense!

Back in the day, my MK1 Metro Turbo didn't have one, as I found out when the diff went.. A trip to Minispares at Friern Barnet (those were the days) a new diff purchased with one fitted.

In early Metro Production, they didn't fit the Centre Block. It was likely Mini Production during the same era was the same.
