Check the plug gaps
Check the resistance of the leads
Check the rotor and cap contacts are clean
Check there's no air leaks on the carb/manifold gaskets
Check there's no leaks on manifold plugs

replaced plugs, cleaned rotor cap and contacts. looked a bit scored on one corner of each contact in the cap.. haven't measured the leads yet. had enough for the evening replacing the starter motorCheck the plug gaps

As a test I swopped the dashpot assemblies to see if it made a difference and it didn't.
Is it possible that my valve clearances are out? Or unlikely to be valve clearances?

Remove the suction chambers and set both jets to the same height below the bridge using a digital vernier gauge.

It sounds like one jet is stuck down or set up lower than the other.
Remove the suction chambers and set both jets to the same height below the bridge using a digital vernier gauge.
I've done that.
