Hello,

To change my A panel I need to get to the spot welds. Is the trim that is over the two edges welded or just clamped?

Is this also original?

Thanks

Normally they fitted them with clamps only.

The trims are usually pushed onto clips that grip the welded seam and the trim strip itself. In reality they should be able to be levered off so you can gain access to the spot welds.

They’re held on by a handful of these barbed clips and probably a fair bit of rust. https://www.minispar...m-moulding-clip

You can normally pry them up with a flat head screwdriver and a wide chisel. Just don’t try moving too fast or you can buckle them.

I've fit them with automotive adhesive after paintwork
