I know there's a forum for 'Meets & Events'->'General Meets & Events'. But it seems entirely populated by club and national events that are planned long in advance.

 

I don't know about others, but on a sunny day I like just "going for a [completely pointless] spin", often at very short notice. There seems to be a gap on TMF for a forum for this?

 

I'm thinking of last-minute posts like "Tomorrow the forecast is nice so I'm taking the Mini from Some-Town to Some-Other-Town. Sandwiches at viewpoint at Somewhere Lake then home again. Would be even better if there were some other Minis doing the same trip at the same time. This is not an organised trip: all navigation and safety are your own responsibility. Departing Some-Town car park 10am sharp tomorrow."

 

Or is there already somewhere on TMF I should (or shoudn't!) be posting these types of things?

Weather notwithstanding, a few other old lags and I will be heading from London to Brighton on Sunday 18th May, 2025

ULEZ  exempt starting from Crystal Palace Park, departing 09:00.

Picking up the ULEZ non-compliant at The Full Monty Cafe, 207 Brighton Rd, Coulsdon CR5 3EA, departing 09:45.

 

This is just a bunch of Mini Owners, having previously picked up the habit, happening to go to Brighton on the third Sunday in May.
