Ok nice. I am going to take a full set of photos and videos and send them to Paul Preston who is gonna be doing the engine fit. His work is fantastic so I am gonna see what the cost to get this shell re done is, so I can then make a decision. The absolute worst scenario is that I buy another shell, blast it, and am in a similar place to now but having forked out way more!

As has already being said, there's an immense amount of work there. Too much to be economical to pay for. If you're hoping to put it on the road the bodyshell should be the one the registration number was issued to, in order to be legal.

 

It depends what you're after. If it's a Mini to drive on the road, you're not starting in a good place - if you'll enjoy gaining skills & the sense of achievement, or there's some sentimental connection to the car it might be worth the months of effort, if not years. It could easily cost you as much either way.
