Just want to check this out, so im looking at these valve springs

 

according to chat gtp, 

 

Mini 1275 Uprated Double Valve Springs (Cooper S Style)

Now, the reason i ask is im having my Lada head done, and i cant get outer valve springs, and also they would be like £90 for the set posted from estonia. Lada sizes according to chat gtp

So is this looking right to you? i could shim up the Mini springs 2mm, and i think the cam ill be going for on the lada is 10mm of lift, i dont know what the max lift of the mini springs would be?

I'm not sure if there are many posters on this forum who are familiar with both Mini and Lada. I don't know how accurate ChatGPT is about cars, or that you might want to double check with other documentation or websites.

If these Mini springs are so much cheaper than the Lada ones you could take the decision to simply spend the money and buy them as an experiment. Unless the money for these Mini springs is too much for your budget.

Looking at the numbers the Mini springs are a higher poundage. Same free and fitted but different seat pressures.

 

but as you have alluded to it comes down to how far you can compress the springs before coil bind.  A stronger spring can either be a better material or a thicker material.

 

i would buy and trial fit and measure.

I know people do use them in the Lada, but what chat gtp said seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was, they are quite different, the stats for the mini ones are totally wrong as i suspected, but i could not find any stats last night. The guy sorting my head is just going to use the old valve springs, it was a precaution not a need.
