Good day

Apologies if this is a silly question.

I am doing an engine swap

The engine I'm pulling out has a 45 dizzy

The one going in had a 25D ( no longer with engine )

Can I simply pull the 45 out of the exiting engine and insert into the "new" engine?

Both are A not A+

Thanks

Yes but the advance may not suit.

How can that be checked?  The 45 going in presently has pertronix fitted.

Also....the engine coming out is a small bore......one going in is a 1275

Lucas dizzys have a 5-digit number stamped on the body. From that number you can find the advance curve.

A small bore dizzy won't be good for large bore engine.

The only way to know for sure is to measure it. That involves either revving the engine and using a timing light or putting it on a distributor machine. They aren't new anymore and people mess with the springs in them.
