No amount of turning tyre around is going to make the tread pattern changing direction.


Dear Santa,
Please can you send me a new set of proper ZZS tyres. Please also can you end this R88R madness because the Toyo tyre designer clearly had a hangover that day.

The tread direction does actually change depending on the wheel position and tyre installation. Think of tractor tyres...

Tractor tyres are traditionally a chevron pattern. They will have a different tread pattern depending on which way they are fitted

As Timmy says, and as he showed in his pics earlier, it make no difference which way it is mounted the tread is the same both ways. It is not symetrical in the true sense but neither is it asymmetrical nor directional. It is an optical illusion due to the slanting groove pattern which also means the grooves point in on 1 side and out on the other which is not ideal.
