The Duchess is 50 in July so I thought I’d give the old W&P dash and door cappings a treat. The veneer is Caucasian burr Walnut which is a bit lighter than your normal walnut. I have to say that the quality of the veneering and lacquering by GDK is astonishing I’m really thrilled with it.

I went for Burr Elm on mine, also restored by Chapman and Cliff in Crewe, to alleviate the darkness.

Yeah the same with mine all black interior and the lighter wood transforms it.

Looks like a lovely job there, very nice indeed. They’re a beautiful thing when the veneering is done well.

My Riley should have walnut gloveboxes and ash everywhere else, but I chose all walnut. Done by Chapman and Cliff in Crewe, two ex Rolls Royce and Bentley trimmers. Can drive you insane cleaning finger prints off, but it’s amazing how it pops and how the colours change in the light.

Just noticed GDK are also Crewe, we’re obviously spoilt for choice around these parts.

Oh I’m liking that very much indeed. Case of send them your tired and cracked veneer and get it back all immaculate? If I may be so bold what does the dash treatment cost in round figures?
