Hi guys,
just been accepted onto this great forum, a mine of info and seems plenty of mini loonies like me!
Was mainly a Triumph man before attending the IMM in 2017 Westport in my daughters RSP; that was the beginning of it……. Being a typical 1990 Mini she was ripe for Resto, which I did, learnt to weld, paint, was reasonable on the spanner’s, and we attended the IMM in Portugal 2018, and got home!
since then have restored two Irish registered 1980 Specials, Rose&Silver. Currently driving a 2000 SEVEN, restoring a 1990 Flame( bodywork complete and engine/ box rebuilt and bench tested).
Have just started on my 79 Clubman estate, very sound car purchased from the Isle of Man, needs cills, rear valance, two door skins & paint. It’s Sandglow, engine&box rebuilt and run(1275) and skinned pass door; plan is to being her to this years IMM.
Happydays
Brendan

Welcome to the forum. If you become a TMF+ member you can get a discount from Mini Spares, it only costs a Fiver and it has saved me a few pounds already.

It sounds like you are going to be spending a lot of time an money on Minis.

I bought mine fully restored and with around 1000Km on the rebuilt engine and still I have spent about 2 Grand, adding bits like 3rd brake light, ashtray clock/USB port (need the USB port not the clock but it also is a thermometer which is handy) and centre console (partially installed as I have to adapt it), changing bits like small steering wheel as I prefer the 12" over bigger ones ,centre horn push which I have to work out to reuse as it was a JDM Spi originally and the horn is a small button on the side of the steering column cover which I will turn into a headlight flasher.

The list never ends even though it is perfectly driveable. I guess I could call it a Minipit.
