Hi All,

Steve from West Sussex, building a 1969 mini van with a friend.. Current project status - All the welding is now done and we're currently stripping the body back to bare metal  :D  ready for paint.

I'm looking for advice on where to source an engine and transmission (for info the V5 states the engine number was 99H/213/H1887). I have searched databases etc and can't find 213, I found 99H/-/101 on Wolseley, Riley, Mini 1000, Clubman1000 1970 onwards and Mk3 with dished piston would this be 101 onwards and therefore right for our van?

Also, Is there anyway to find out what the original transmission would have been? Magic Wand or Remote? (I believe Rod was 1973 onwards)

Cheers

Steve

https://www.britishm...ge-certificates

Heritage Certificate are available from link above for £52 plus p&p.

This is a 'Certified Copy of a Factory Record' for your classic car, showing your car's specification as it left the production line.

Details such as build and despatch dates, engine and body numbers, colour scheme, and details of factory fitted equipment, supplying dealer, etc.

These can be a hit or just depending on what was recorded in the initial build/sale details.

Thank you for responding - unfortunately the Heritage certificate doesn’t have much more information recorded. It did confirm the van was built in 1968, the engine number was 1887 and that the factory colour was Snowberry White (which will paint it).

I’ll keep searching for 1968 998cc with magic wand

The Heritage cert has 1887 as the engine number would that not suggest it's the original engine?

The age of the van and the 99H did not start till the next year.
