Apologies to jump on tbr thread but saves another topic being created.

What pads would be recommended for standard road driving. I bought the 10inch cooper kit and use the pads that come with them. The pads cause so much brake dust it’s getting annoying. What’s anyone’s recommendation please?

For a brake to work properly it's got to wear, and that pad wear results in brake dust. Not sure there's any real way around it. I'm currently using M1144 pads, which perform considerably better than my old standard road Ferrodo pads, but they do create a fair bit more dust than the Ferrodo's did.

Depends what you're using your car for, and the power. I'll be running 160bhp in my mini van, so wanted the largest disc size I could fit under 10s. Opted for KAD 7.9" vented.

KAD 7.9's are great.
But, trying to find out what wheels they will or won't fit is a bit of an issue.

They're going under 3 piece SC 10x6s

On both my rally minis I use 7.5" 'S' discs and callipers with carbon-metallic pads and AP 600 brake fluid.

Never had any problems even on rallies where the discs can actually glow red-hot.

On one of the cars I have the Mini Spares own callipers, with OE 'S' callipers on the other car.

Thanks for all the replies, there's some great advice there.

@cooperman I have a Clio 172 cup track car (which only gets used on track). Performance discs and pads are all that is needed. The brakes were usually smoking after a run on track and I've never had any issues at all. I guess the minis are the same! My mini will mostly get used on the road and rarely driven as hard as the clio gets driven so it makes sense that 2 pots would be sufficient.

I ended up ordering the Mini Spares Cooper S 2 pot conversion kit, plus Hi-Lo's, plus their full suspension geometry set all for less than a set of 4 pots. Money well spent I think!
