I just purchased a surf blue 1997 JDM Rover Mini.  The roof is currently blue but it very much needs to be white!

 

the question now is this:  which white?  White Diamond?  Old English White?  Something else?

 

I'm interested in what would be correct for that year, but also just opinions on which white works best on a surf blue paint job.

Maybe someone on here could photoshop a pic of your car. Let you mKe an educated guess..

Not so sure of JDM colours, and combinations? 
 

White diamond was mainly nineties Rover Coopers etc, and earlier Racing Green/ Red Hot models. Sure there’s plenty of others?

 

Old English White, pretty much early 1960 Minis. 

 

I had a 1999 Anthracite Mpi Sportspack with Ivory white roof and stripes. Think I’ve seen that combined with your colour?

 

Surf blue is a great colour though , nice one.

White Diamond II (“NAL”) and Old English White (“NNX”, not the 1960’s OEW which I think was “GT3”) were both used on 1990’s Minis.

My ‘98 JDM from the factory was Flame Red / White Diamond II but I had it repainted in Solar Red / OEW which I much prefer and was a colour combination of that era, replacing the Flame Red combo. I was concerned the OEW would be too cream but it’s perfect.

All those years thinking I had an Ivory white roof.
Glad I didn’t need any paint at the time…
