"Always a tremendous crowd favourite, the Historic Saloon Cars Series is for saloon cars that were in series production before 1966. Cars can be developed in line with period modifications, and separate classes are run for cars complying with FIA Appendix K regulations. With Mini Coopers and Singer Chamois taking on Ford Anglias and Lotus Cortinas, plus a Triumph Vitesse, Austin A40 or Fiat 600 Abarth the racing is always exciting."
From the HRSR :
Forty years ago the Historic Racing Saloons Register was formed to cater for pre '66 saloon car racing events and they have now launched their brand new website which includes:
Race dates and venues
Current news
Drivers stories
Action pictures
Club history
Fond memories
and much much more
Over the last four decades it has attracted some very well known drivers such as Gerry Marshall, Tony Lanfranchi, Sir John Whitmore, Mike Crabtree, Les Nash, Peter Baldwin, Rod Birley, George Polley who all loved racing these historic saloons which are still a massive crowd favourite.
The Historic Racing Saloons are now allied to the Historic Sports Car Club ( https://hscc.org.uk/...storic-saloons/ ) and compete for the Historic Saloons Pre ’66 Championship. The high profile of the HSCC gives them a good programme of races at all of the best circuits in the UK and a big thank you must go to the HSCC for providing excellent value for the drivers to enter.
