Hi All,

Last Saturday I purchased a Clubman Estate something I've been talking about doing for many years. Back in the 1990s I had a series of minis but life and the need for a omfe modern and reliable car got in the way.

I'm already spending most of my time looking at or ordering parts and have a long list of jobs to get done !

Hopefully my pic will post OK

That is great - Welcome!

That is a lovely estate! - It looks like it is in good nick too...

I really like the colour scheme.
Are those LED headlights?

Nice mini!

First thing I would do is get period correct numbers plates.

No one was driving round in 1981 with black and silver plates back then (on their brand new 1981 vehicle) as they were seen as old fashioned.

Also due to a recent change in the rule and/or law, you are not supposed to run black and silver plates on a post 1980 vehicle now.

The pic seems to be inaccessible now.

I have done something VERY wrong with my plates as well... I have Black & silver plates - because I really enjoy the vintage look and they match the mini's anthracite & silver colours very well...

This is the best looking version of license plates - in my opinion

To make matters even worse; I have the plates showing my minis'  original German plate registration number - which does not match any period UK License number sequence.

I know it is all wrong and I'd likely be flogged if I got close to the UK, but at least the number has some relevance to my mini. AND it looks good!

The mini does wear its proper registration plate on the rear screen - sometimes. This is attached to the rear glass with suction cups which happen to un-stick all the time leaving the plate flat and out of view on the rear shelf most of the time always.
