When I got my Mini as a student I daily'd it and had a blast. These days I probably still would, just in summer... and if it were still in one piece!

I don't now because my commute is over 50 miles. But it was my first car and daily driver for years. I can't believe looking back how I did it. No mod cons, not much comfort and just give it a set of sills every few years when they rotted through.

The salt is also a major consideration for me too.

My commute works out nearly 55 miles a day, I will admit getting into my focus feels like driving a rolls royce after driving the mini everyday lol. Admittedly I worry about the salt too, I try and give it a jet off at the petrol station once a week to clean it off and give it a go over with the waxoyl once the winter is over.

Kudos to you mate, maybe once I've rebuilt this engine I'll have to start doing more in mine. Thing is yours Is probably really reliable given its driven so frequently :)

I've been lucky. I built it with using it as a daily as the main consideration. Admittedly the bodywork ain't perfect and it's definitely not original but it does the job. Id love it to be quieter on the motorway though 😂
