Does anyone know if 1275 driveshafts are same for auto and manual?

Cheers

In the 1970s, the 998 automatic shafts were the same as the manual, and the the Hardy Spicer couplings were interchangeable with the rubber ones

There are differences, though nothing to do with the type of gearbox, but the type of Joint between the Shaft and the Gearbox.

There were Rubber type Universals, Steel type Universals and Inboard CVs (often referred to as Pot Joints), each of these had different drive shafts.

Yes and no.

all outer spines are the same. There are two types on inner splines.  There can be small length differences. Engine size has no relation to the drive shafts.

then there was the cost cutting that did change the thickness of the some of the driveshafts.

Also, no difference between disk and drum braked cars in terms of drive shaft length?

No difference. If you have pot joints they're all interchangeable. Some are thicker, but they all have the same splines at both ends.

No difference in usability. It is only the inner splines that are the difference.
