Great story (and the Autocar Archive is amazing). Wonder how much longer it survived after that story.

667 GFC was exported to Japan soon after the 1979 Autocar article and featured on the cover of MiniWorld magazine in March 2020 when it returned to the UK with its Japanese owner for the Mini show at Gaydon.
