Hi,
I just removed all the SPI system from the car. There were a couple of wires I wasn't expecting. They branch off just after the main ECU plug. There was a red/white which was taped up and had a spade connector on the end. A green white wire I traced all the way to a grommet at the passenger side of the cabin. Ended up just cutting that.
I can't see these on the UK wiring diagrams, would they be for the air con system ? (my air con is removed).

From the schematic diagrams I have seen are both green&white and red&white color codes used to indicate supply wires that are fused. In other words: a red wire would go from the battery to a fuse and after the fuse a red&white wire is used to go to a certain consumer (or group of consumers). The same for green to green&white.
So, when you cut these wires ensure that you don't short circuit them to ground (or the car's body).

The red/white wire is right side lights.
You haven't said what year the Mini is.
On JDM SPi '96 on.
There is also
several Green/white wires and Light green/white wires connected to the air con.
red/ white from ECU to air con relay module.

Yep this sounds spot on. Somebody taped up the red/white when they removed the air con, and the green white going into the cabin is at the blower motor position. It matches that diagram. (car is 94 by the way).
