Mmm, .315" could be a 649, but hopefully more like a 544.

A 544 in a 997 Cooper would see off a standard 1275 S through the gears.

It’s a 1340, there’s a note saying it was 78 at the wheels when built in ‘95 but not much more info. It’s been off the road for 20 yrs after builder lost interest.

edit to add ; just re-measured and I`m getting a consistent .320 EX and .315 IN. I got .320 on #1 and .315 on # 2&3

Taking an absolute punt here and presuming it isn't one of APT's short duration high lift jobs, I expect its got around 285 degree of seat duration which is a lot of cam in a street motor, the MG cam will most probably pick up bundles of extra torque in the real world driving rev range.

Hmm, interesting angle, thanks .. I doubt it’s anything too special, I have the garage receipts from original build in 95 that just say ‘fast road cam - £40.50’. Car is currently in a dark cold lock up, I could get a degree wheel on it when the weather and light improves and maybe get some better info ?

I used to run a +030" 1275 engine (1302cc I believe) with a Kent 266 cam (similar to the MG Metro one) along with an MED Road/Competition Head which was bought in the late 90s. This was a lovely combination. Power wasn't huge (just under 80bhp) but it was lovely and tractable with torque everywhere. Just my 2p's worth.  :gimme:
