1275 Gt Front Indicator Lens For 1980 Model

Best Answer slidehammer , 17 January 2025 - 10:52 AM

I thought they were common to all Clubman fronted models through out production and not GT specific

I don't think at any pint they had clear lenses apart for the side light area.

Hi all

does anyone have the answer to the following please:

ADU3017/8 - SIDE/FLASHER LAMPS LUCAS 57329/57330 L811 MINI CLUBMAN/1275GT was apparently for the 1275 gt for the years up to 1975. What was originally used for the 1275 gt from 1976 to the end of production in 1980?

Was it just that the lens no longer had the chrome bezel and was clear instead?

As far as I’m aware they were used through the production run to 1980.

It wasn’t the lens I was referring to, it was just the bezel or lip of the lens itself that appears to be clear and not chromed, possibly to save a penny or two for Leyland.

if anyone has a 1976 to 1980 1275 gt with its original front indicator/side light lens could they just see if they have a chromed Bessel finish or a clear finish like the rest of the lens itself?

many thanks.

The Front indicator lamps for all Clubman models including the 1275GT was the same from start to finish of production.

Chromed all the way to end of production. Be aware of new units as the chrome is very very poor quality

(I bought 2 new units for my 1980 UK spec Clubman Estate and within a year the chrome finish was already flaking off the light units) sourced from Somerford Mini in the UK

Thanks everyone for the information. That helps to clear things up for me. It appears some sellers on eBay don’t have the correct facts.

cheers.

They figure if they list it as a 1275GT and / or Cooper S, even thought it might be the same parts used in the 'lesser' models, it has to be worth 10 x more.
