I wondered how easy it is to remove the concertina flexi pipes under each wing on a 2000 mpi mini?

I want to clean under each wing and rust proof. The area behind the black pipes are mud traps where the wings meet the scuttle and A frames.

This area has also caught my eye for the same reason...

I do not use the mini in the wet (We only have a few rainy days anyway), But knowing the weather in the UK - I am surprised this area is not better protected. (I mean - it is fully exposed to water flung off of the tires right into the turn indicator connections.)

Has anyone ever made some sort of plastic mud shield to cover that area from dirt, water splashing - and mud - in the worst case.

Get a set of these, Front Wing Inner Wheel Arch Liners from Mini Spares, after upgrading to TMF+ and you'll be £3.77 better off.

Not sure why they list "Not for MPI models or Clubman", they were fitted in my MPi when I bought it.

There are aluminium ones available from Lokari, in Germany.

Before I install liners, I need to clean out and rust proof the area in question. Any advice on gaining access by removing the pipes?
