Just for completeness: no  OBD compliant Minis were made by Rover, so you'll only get a GPS speedo & clock in the way of instrumentation.

I once looked into the cheap Chinese car radios and there were multiple mentions of them starting fires.

Anyway, the problem with Chinese electronics is most often the software/interface. They usually never finish it and there's always bugs.

I avoid helping people with any Chinese designed electronics now. It's always a nightmare with software and drivers. In one case I was paid more than one item originally cost in order to write instructions for it. During my testing the item partially failed.
