Does anyone know if there is a concise list of what studs and bolts are used in the A+ engine and gearbox?
I'm building both from the ground up using just the castings.
I wondered if there is a reference as to what studs or bolts are used, their lengths and threads etc?

Buy a Works Manual, there are usually some on ebay.

All the bolts and studs are shown, somewhere, in the various drawings.

I use the parts diagrams on websites such as Moss-Europe, etc. They may not all have the dimensions but then you can track these down via the part numbers.

As Gazza suggest above, use the parts supplier's on-line parts listings to work our your list, that will give it to you by part number, then you can go here;-

to decipher most of those numbers in to lengths, finish, grade, thread form etc. There will be some that don't fall in to that list and these will be special types that you'll more of less be locked in to going 'genuine'. Note too that due to the period when that list was put together, it pre-dates the flanged bolts that are used in a few places on the A+ Engines, but just refer to the A Engines, for the most part, they used the same fasteners only in a conventional form.

There's actually not what I'd call a lot of fasteners in an engine.
