Photo below was posted on 'Sporting Minis' today by Miguel Hernandez after his house and Minis were destroyed by the California wildfires, very sadly he says 'everything is toast'.

How sad.

Thankfully, the loss of life seems to be very few.

These fires are incredibly intense due to super low humidity and 100mph winds (in some canyons).

These are a couple hundred miles north of where I am typically. (only a few small fires around these parts due to significantly better conditions.

It is very sad to see these 'toasted' minis. Very sad.

I was able to take a peek at the 'sporting minis' page, before facebook wanted me to join... Seemed like a good gathering spot for mini owners.
(I left facebook  many years ago - I am not about to do that again!)

That's awful, so sorry for the home owner.

I've spent many happy holidays in Pasadena/Altadena and the footage of what it has now become is shocking.

I'm not on Facebook either but find you usually get a short peek on 'Sporting Minis' before FB wants you to join/log in. If you click on a photo/post before that message happens, it seems to hold things open to read, until you click to go back to the list of previous posts. Sporting Minis is run by a member of the Mk1 Forum who has a very good in depth knowledge of competition Minis and their history.

Not to say I’m not hugely sorry for the owner, but I have to say what a bloody fantastic photograph. Beautifully composed and tells such a poignant story.

a small silver lining has been the phenomenon of cars that were left parked in the streets surviving the fires
