Hello everyone, I'm 76 years of age having owned a number of Minis in the past, I'm a bit of a petrol head so remember the registration numbers.
My first Mini was an 850 version with the old floor operated dip switch, floor mounted starter button with the long pudding stick gear lever with no synchromesh in first gear. A check with DVLA no longer lists the vehicle it was a Red Mini SFA 782.
My second Mini was a Mk1 1275 Cooper S, DJC 323E, I sold it to an owner in Sheffield who wrote the vehicle off.
My third vehicle was a Mk2 998 Mini Cooper LOV378F it was extensively modified by me after about 5 years of ownership to full 1275 Cooper S specification except for the front discs that were standard 998 with a Servo. When I bought the vehicle sometime in late1973 it was Grey with a White roof. I had it resprayed in Rootes Goodwood Green Metallic. After about 10 years with lots of new metal work I changed it to a Tricholour Red/Yellow/Blue selling it sometime around 1974. I bought it back some years later, I removed the Hydralastic Displaces converting it to rubber cone suspension.
The vehicle VRM shows it as now Grey, back to it's original colour, I lost track of the vehicle, DVLA show it as untaxed last V5 issued 18/8/1991. It would be nice to know it still actually exists.
