Apologies for another 'what colour is my car' topic, but I've been through the paint codes and so on for the year and can't seem to figure it out.

This is a 1988 Austin Mini City E Auto, the V5 lists it as white. It's a creamy colour, the pictures below hopefully give some idea. The only sort of match I can see from codes and brochures is diamond white for that year, but that seems whiter than mine from what pics I could find. There's also Old English White but that doesn't fit the year, I don't think? The car doesn't 'look' to have been repainted at any point, or if they did they did a thorough + decent job as everywhere is the same and no overspray etc.

I've got loads of bits that will need touching up, so the plan is to find a local paint shop, get it scanned, and hopefully get some aerosol cans made up if possible (as I can't afford a repaint) but it'd be interesting to know if there's a code that covers it or it's been redone...

What shows the VIN plate in the engine bay ?

Your car should have this type of VIN plate with a 3-letter paint code on it.

If wanted to really sure the new paint matched. Take a wing mirror to an automotive paint supplier and they will match to it.

Any good paintshop will have a scanner they can use for you, takes several samples and gives you the closest 3 colours. I've used one at work to see what colour was best for mine, as it was painted 15 years ago, and had UV fade.

From your photos the cars had paint, so matching to the vin might be somewhat off.

Don't discount aerosols for an off the gun finish, i've had some pretty good results.

looks to me from the pics like the mirrors are a slightly different colour so in this case may not be the best idea
