So i have the chrome door mouldings and the blind rivets for the upper moulding in a MK1. Anyone know where to drill the holes, meaning are they in the middle of the door arch? Difficult to measure where to drill and dont want it to go wrong.

Any help appreciated, don´t find searching!

My advice is don’t use rivets. I use a good quality RTV adhesive and the ones on my 1964 ‘S’ have been on since 1995 with no problems.
There are no corrosion issues as no water can get behind the chrome bits.
Put the RTV into the channels of the chrome parts and position them on the door. I then wind a continuous piece of string tightly onto the door frame and leave it to cure. Then cut the string and remove it and go around the edges with a plastic knife to remove the excess adhesive.
Drilling holes just encourages rust.

Thanks. Sounds as a good way to don it.
