Hi everyone.

I would like to hear your opinion on the noise in the video.
I have done engine head cleaning and gasket replacement for a few days and adjusted the valve clearance of the roller rocker to 0.015in.

I finally started my car and the ticking/tapping noise is much louder than before.

One thing I'm worried about is that when I rolled it on the table, the number 6 push rod was slightly bent.

Is the valve clearance incorrect or is there another issue you suspect? Should I replace all the pushrods?

What are the problems you can think of? Please advise.

Have you got any oil feed to the rocker shaft? It looks very dry. Oil is normally being flicked every where when the engines running with the rocker cover off.

Thanks for the advice.

There is no separate oil feed device to the rocker shaft.

I thought it was okay because I filled it up to the mark on the oil dipstick when I changed the engine oil yesterday.

I'll fill it with a little more engine oil tomorrow and try to start it.

You should have oil feed to the rocker shaft via a drilling in the cylinder head. The feed comes via the head into the 1st rocker post from the right hand side of the engine as you look at it. You either have the wrong rocker post fitted to the right hand position on the rocker shaft or maybe the head gasket on back to front which will be blocking the oil feed between the block and the head.

Oil is fed into the rocker shaft up from the cylinder head through a small drilling in the head and then up one of the rocker shaft pillars. Check the small oil way is not blocked or the rocker shaft will run dry and wear rapidly.

Do not top up the oil if it is already filled up to the maximum mark on the dipstick as that will make no difference to the rockers and over-filling will create other problems.

A bent pushrod can touch the side of the hole in the head as it moves up and down, so yes the pushrod should be changed.

Thank you for attaching the pictures so that it is easy to understand.

Oh, I thought there was a separate rocker shaft oil supply device.

I didn't know oil was circulated there.

The gasket and rocker seem to have been worked on correctly. The engine head was also cleaned, so the holes are not clogged.

If oil is circulating properly through the rocker shaft, where can I check to see if it is?

Thank you. I'm trying to order from Minispares.

The oil hole doesn't seem to be clogged.
And I won't add any more engine oil and will check a few more things.
Thanks for the link information too.

If the engine has a standard cam and valve springs and the rockers aren't super high lift then it should be acceptable.

Oil should be getting fed directly to the rocker bush via the rocker shaft anf post, so oil should be squirting out from between the rocker and the post and the rocker and the spacer tube.
I don't know whether minisport rockers also have direct oil feed to the roller tip and pushrod ball adjuster as the MED ones have.
Oil should be getting sprayed all over the engine if you run it without the rocker cover on.

Here you can see the oil passage drillings on the MED rocker between the bearing surface and the roller tip and the ball adjuster.
I don't know whether minisport rockers have this feature.

Thanks imack. Your advice helped me a lot.

I've been using it for 2 years so I don't think it'll be a problem but I'll check this out.

I opened the head today to check it out and another question arose.

If you don't mind, could you please advise me on a new inquiry regarding rocker oil injection?
