Evening folks,

Hope you’ve all had good holidays!

Just fettling in the garage I have two front seats which I think came from a mk3 mini. (They were a FB market place bargain).

The seat foam has sunken thus leaving the vinyl cover baggy although this has been pulled taught! I’d ideally like to fit new seat cushions however the price for now is a little out of my range. Does anyone have any tricks on how to pack the seats up a little to give the seat a firmer feel.

First check that the seat diaphragm hasn't failed.

Buy a sheet of 25mm medium density foam. Cut to size, it's perfect for plumping the seat.

Can't say I've skinned a Mk3, but some have ties sewn on inside of the cover that hook through the foam to follow concave contours better. I've used gaffer tape around the sides of cushions that have been squished & spread to restore some shape & make them firmer. A slice of closed cell yoga/camping mat, between the diaphragm & cushion could also make up some lost volume.

You can get foam from efoam cut to size of whatever density you want.
