Find yourself a good machine shop.

Worth their weight in gold sometimes.

Especially if they will work with you for thismsort of thing.

More time spent now means less time road side waiting recovery.....

Just to clarify,,,,,,

Is it a 998 or 1275 ?

When you say 'inner' bush, that's not a common term, so sorry, I'm not sure which one that is.

There is a front bush, which when fitted up is closest to the front of the engine (water pump end) and a rear bush, which is the top hat one closest to the flywheel.

BUSH-PRIMARY GEAR-FRONT 850,998,1098cc-'63-'92

One of those things that maybe need to make a few and offer a bulk buy if you can be bothered with the postage and the like..

They are no longer available and have to be made to suit.

thanks. I have seen both this and your other primary gear video (part 2). they are good.

I have access to a lathe, but obviously doesn't have the DEVA material. I have thought about asking you how much to rebush a primary gear for me, but sending it to and from Denmark where I live is an added cost

by the way, in your part two video of rebushing that primary gear, it looks like you are using normal bronze for the front bush (furthest to the belt end) and that DEVA bronze for the top hat bush, but werent they both DEVA originally? is it ok to use normal bronze for that inner bush?

In that video, that example the front bush is an extra high lead content lead bronze it’s not normal bearing bronze. The top hat bush is a minispare bush. These materials have proved perfectly reliable in the uk, I know this because I have machined hundreds of them, and none have returned.
I also offer genuine DEVA bushes, but the cost of these put most off as it’s more than double the cost of rebushing using the above method.

I also currently have a small stock of genuine original DEVA top hat bushes and the front bushes for the 1275 type gears. When these are gone there will be no more. I don’t sell these individually, only available when I rebuild your gear.

Here is an example of a genuine DEVA gear with custom bushes which I can supply when I rebuild gears for customers;
