 Hi, these nuts came with the car when I bought it. They aren't for the Mambas currently fitted. I have some Exactons getting refurbed and I thought these would work, but I ordered a GAW115 Exacton wheel nut and it's clearly different.

 

 Any ideas what these nuts are for and can I use them with the Mini Special wheels?

Looks like a standard late Rover wheel nut with the chrome/tin cover missing  - makes them easier to undo IMHO but they don't look as pretty (cosmetics surely the only reason for those crazy capped wheel nuts) - looking more closely they may be mid 80s wheelnuts for steel wheels and using those large full width plastic wheel covers (held on by the washer

 

Sorry I can't answer you direct question - as to whether these would work with the Mini Special Exacton wheels - you need a nut that has a seat to match the wheel (taper or round or a tube nut if the wheel is so designed - like a mamba)) and I believe Exactons had those NLA plastic covers (but now available on Ebay 3D printed)  - what nut they are designed to go on sorry can't help but you say you ordered an Exacton wheel nut - can't you get a set of those if they ARE the correct ones? and do the covers fit those if they are Exacton wheel nuts?

That’s a FAM3428 wheel nut for 10” & 12” with plastic hub caps that seat on the nuts.

They won’t be safe you use with Mini Special wheels as they do not have the integrated steel washer that a GAW113A does.

 Thanks for the response. Funnily enough, there were 3 or 4 black nut covers that look like original Exacton nut covers also with the nuts in the back of the car. They're so old, they crack when touched, they do fit on the nut but are slightly loose, they wouldn't withstand a couple of miles on the road. I've seen the 3d printed ones, £40 seems a bit steep, I've thought of investing in a 3d printer as the design for the covers is freely available on the internet.

 Thans for the identification. I had assumed the washer was metal but it is actually plastic. The nuts actually look like FAM5701's https://www.minispar...-plastic-hubcap

I was looking for a set of them a few months back!

 

Ended up turning a load down for rubber washers 

 

 

the 5701's will have domed seats for the original pattern wheels

 

 

FAM3428 will have a 60 degree taper, as used after '84.
