My M C, feels stiff with any hole, it has the original cones, only 4800 miles, should I replace them?

Definitely!
At regular intervals: time, not mileage, is the deciding factor.

It's time that causes them to go bad. They'll be decades overdue if they are original.

What is the recommended time interval for replacement? I've heard 20,000 miles quoted before as a recommended distance...

does this include time sitting on a shelf waiting to be fitted, or just time spent under load

Hola Alex!
- Bienvenido!
I am also in Mexico - but in Baja California. Close to the wine!
Can you post a picture of your mini?
Do you have one of the ones imported into Mexico (sold at BMW dealers, I believe*) at the end of production?
*If I recall correctly - I may be wrong!
