I need a factory jack for a 96 spi Mini. I have a trolley jack but can't carry that around! I have a larger jack (Maxi?) to swap if needed. Oxfordshire

It's a big thing to carry around just on the offchance of a puncture. Not sure rescue service would help if I have no jack. Car has new sills, I wonder if they are undersize holes, and the vendor threw the jack away to cover their shortcomings

Thanks-I think I've identified that the sill holes are too small. I measured up for a scissor jack from Halfords, and I doubt I'd get it under the subframe if I had a puncture. Maybe better now I've restored the front ride height with some Hilos (fitted under warranty!) Grateful for a link to something that should work OK

I find the standard jack does the job ok.
That is dependant on the hole the jack locates into and the surrounding sill being in good condition.
The way it positively locates into the sill hole is good. There's no doubt it's located correctly.
It is only for wheel changing though you'd need something that jacks under the subframes for wider repairs.

Have a poke about on Ebay for original equipment off other models - Rover 75 looks interesting.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I have the correct jack but non-standard replacement sills. Scissor or bottle it is

Check a bottle jack fits first. I found them to be too large. Has to fit with the tyre flat.
