Hi, Previous owners of my mk 1 mini have removed vin number from the engine bay.

Is there anywhere else other than the vin plate where the number would be recorded on the car please ??

I've tried bulkhead behind the parcel shelf however its covered in really old hessian presumably from the parcel shelf adhesive and makes locating any numbers almost impossible.

Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Some useful info on numbers in the Minimail link below:-

https://www.minimail...sis-vin-plates/

Also locations for numbers on early Mk1 Minis here:-

https://1959miniregi...ations-numbers/

If you have the registration number the VIN can be retrieved from the DVLA database via a motor trade HPI type search as long as the vehicle is still on the DVLA computer database and the registration number is still listed as valid on the government 'Vehicle Tax Check' website.

If so PM me your reg no. and I will try to check vin for you if it is listed.

Minis only really got a VIN number stamped in to all models from the early 1980's, where it is found in the bonnet rear 'rain channel', under the rubber sealing strip.

ie. just above the brake and clutch master cylinders (RH Drive cars).
