Alright Folks,

Happy Friday!

Anyone know any good deals on the day for mini bits?

I’m doing a retro mod of a 90s Cooper. I’m looking for an interior or covers in the red & grey / red & cream / red & brocade for a Mk1 Austin Cooper S look style. Can anyone give any recommendations of seats or covers? Money is tight so I’m trying to get biggest bang for my buck.

Could anyone make any recommendations or does anyone have anything suitable for sale or have the skills to make them.

Once I have sorted them out I will be selling on the current seats or covers currently fitted. Currently fitted are the “lighting” fabric

Has anyone fitted or tried these seats:

Is so what did you think of this them?
.

Also looking for a Mk 1 grill surround that will fit. I have a reproduction one but the fitment is shocking. Is the front panel contours on a 90s mini significantly different from a Mk1? It seems to fit fine across the top, then by the time it gets to the indicators, it stands off about 10 - 20 cm. Again any advice much appreciated.

I have loads of questions but I’ll not batter them all in here.

Last one for now, anyone know any good “Black Friday” deals on any parts or accessories.

I hope all have a good day! Anyone doing anything interesting to their minis are his weekend?

Many thanks in advance to anyone that contributes to my post!

Have a good weekend good week!

All the best

Cheers

Never many deals on interiors in my experience, look out for second hand.

Get yourself TMF+ membership, costs £5, supports this forum and you get 7.5% off at Mini Spares all year round.

The later front panels are a slightly different shape and the indicator plinths/dome pressings in the panel are bigger, so it can be a problem trying to fit an original shaped reproduction surround/moustache, although the grill fits ok.
Mini Spares make a slightly different shaped moustache and also matching 'whisker' ends, (see link below) to overcome this problem.

Mk1 GRILLE SURROUND

"MkI "moustache"(mustache in USA) chrome surround for the MkI grille.
This item is in deep chrome on brass as per the original 1960s type to help prevent rusting. It has now been modified to fit with our grilles to all genuine front panels that are now available plus the originals and also gives the desired retro look on later cars. You will of course have to remove the bonnet moulding lip on later cars (1967 on) to allow this part to fit."
Cheap overseas copies on steel are prone to rust and nearly 5/8" too high on left hand side creating poor fitment or impossible correct fitment.

Mk1 GRILLE SURROUND (COMPLETE KIT)

This is a complete moustache kit to fit all MK1 grilles to any genuine Rover front panels. The fixing lugs on the 14A7781retro surround are deeper to fit into the recess formed on front panels. The bonnet front edge moulding Mk2/3 onwards and its fitting platform need removing which may also require the bonnet to be repaired:-
