Be aware they are not legal on all Minis as Rover did not put the approvals through.

and now you have to have a new towbar that has been approved. Not seen any in the UK.

Minis that were registered for road use before 1st August 1998 can be fitted with a tow bar.
The later Mini MPi models were never approved by MG Rover as a vehicle suitable for towing, so no such data appears to exist for the MPi Mini. However, only MPi Minis registered for road use from and including 1st August 1998 are illegal to fit a tow bar to for towing as from this date a car has to be 'type approved' as does the tow bar, and none that are compliant exist for the Mini.

(Used Mini towbars also often come up for sale on ebay).

This one has just sold on ebay:-

The Minisport towbar below appears to have been made by Watling but are not currently listed:-

I lusted for a mini trailer - (In the shape of a mini rear-end). Having (and loving) a dual center exhaust complicated things a bit.

But coming into (or building my own) trailer was the actual complication which has kept me from it. (an I have not needed a trailer...)
