Sorry I'm $pamming a bit - (remove if mods want to)

But if you don't like the way things are going in the UK at the moment ...

I don't think anything will happen - but the petition  is moving fast ...

I hadn’t realised there are only two choices?

The coming implementation of IHT on farmers is the final straw for me, little concept that it’s a tax on the value of a business rather than personal wealth. ‘Funding the NHS’ is nothing better than smoke and mirrors, of course the illiterate believe taxing farmers will turn around the NHS. Of course it will. Not.

Remember the name Blackrock in the years to come.

I don't do party politics, as to me it's like choosing to tread in dog/cat sh#t, both highly unpleasant. At work we did a quick survey of who voted for who, the surprising result came from the younger generation, the vast majority voted for the Reform Party which I wasn't expecting.

I thought the NHS was meant to be saved by the money saved by leaving Europe

Tax and spend plus a big increase in unemployment is what always happens with Labour governments but each generation has to learn what the socialism like Starmer's means for real 'working people'. This time they also painted themselves into a corner by pledging to not increase income tax, VAT or National Insurance. Now they are struggling to raise the money in tax needed to pay train drivers £70k a year with no improvements to efficiency or their old school working practices, same with junior doctors, NHS, etc,.....Reeves has invented a black hole they have created and keep banging on about. Now Reeves budget employer NI increases and min wage increase is resulting in jobs being cut by the private sector. Meanwhile the civil servants & public sector are protected from it all, work from home and keep their lifetime gold plated index linked pensions paid for by us...I could go on....have voted for the petition above as a protest even though we have at least 4 or 5 years of this to come....hopefully a one term government.

Same apparently happened in US Election....many young people especially young men voted for Trump as they have had enough of all the DEI (Diversity, Inclusion, Equality) woke ideology being pushed on them as the norm by the political left and main stream media channels.

Any chance that we can leave politics out of the forum? It's never going to end well, especially as we have a labour government who are intent on ruining all the good that the conservatives did.

What everybody forgets is that virtually every MP is basically a snake oil salesman who will promise you anything to get elected and doesn’t give a toss the moment they are.

Less than half as many as the 'Cancel Brexit' petition, and look how well that worked.

That made me chuckle, I hope that’s what was intended.

Either way, I agree with the first part. Politics on this forum doesn’t work. No one is going to change their mind so we all end up thinking the other person is a moron, naive, or both. I remember the Brexit thread and still think less of some that posted.
