Hi all,

I have fitted a MPI fuel tank into my 1980 1275GT, however to get it in I had to remove the square bracket just below the tank strap mount on the rear panel. I had to do this to get the fuel tank neck to reach the filler neck hole in the body. The tank is right up tight at the back, the tank sits behind the small tab for the boot wire and in front of the lower boot floor bracket.

However when I bump the rear of the car there is a knock coming from inside the boot :/. I fitted rubber hose to the bottom of the tank seam to keep if off the floor and it all feels tight in the car.

Has anyone fitted the MPI tank into an earlier car, had the same problem? I searched the forum and could not find anything related, the tank that cam out was a SPI tank and they look exactly the same size. Maybe the seams are different or a dimension different between SPI & MPI fuel tanks?

I will take a series of pictures on Friday to explain better, any advice would be appreciated :)
