Old dealer inventory from a dealer going broke and unable to sell the last inventory due to legal issues?

There was an old MG dealer which left a few cars abandoned in their showroom... There was a brand new TF which I had my eye on for years... Never knew what happened to those cars. 

- Or did someone's expectation's of future value appreciation turned out significantly off the mark?

Doesn't look to be any pics of the Matra, a mate of mine has one here in Australia, although it's quite sad.
