Hi all,

What's the best retro looking door mirrors for actual visibility ? I have bought two different sets from Minispares and rear visibility is poor.

I'm quite happy with mine, in terms of visibility, and appearance.

Hi flat, I've got the Tex mirrors but find that the glass rattles to much, also the Minispares GAM 112/113 which are really poor visibility

We went with the domed mirrors after we too found the Tex to be too shaky. Even when fully adjusted up the slight wobble was a distraction. Even though the domed are smaller, for some reason it's easier to do the difficult reverse into the garage. Plenty of vision whilst driving I find. Minispares GS25317

Ps. The mouse loves them 😁

I've been really happy with the satin black TEX mirrors a friend gave me. Absolutely no shake or rattle from them, unlike the genuine rover ones I previously had which I fitted in the mid 1980's.
One door skin is heritage and has factory installed rivnuts, the other is genuine BL with rivnuts I installed.

I think mine was more to do with the car shaking and not so much that the Tex mirrors are bad. They amplified the problems I was having I think.

Plenty of options for these now. Minispares, Minispares Huddersfield, and quite a few eBay offerings. Did you order them a while ago?

I have the Tex version of these domed mirrors and they suck. The black ring that holds them in always comes off and the mirrors will dislodge. Do you have the same issue with the Japan ones? I was thinking of trying the delta mini version.

The Minispares ones are pretty solid. I did remove the glass on one side to measure it, as I was thinking of buying a convex replacement for the passenger side, and it was fairly tricky to get back in and seat correctly with the seal. After that it's not moved though. Adhered to the back of the glass there is a round spring locater to hold the spring central. I can imagine without this they would be terrible, and fall out a lot. I haven't tried a convex glass yet as I can't find one that has the spring holder on the back.

Daz.
